New Found Love (2024)
Producer
FOUND is a K-drama-inspired short film about a Gen Z granddaughter who uncovers a surprising secret about her grandma’s love life. Blending comedy and heart, the film encourages young audiences to reflect on caregiving and elderly support.
As producer, I oversaw logistics, scheduling, and team coordination, ensuring smooth execution from concept to delivery. Commissioned by AIC Singapore, the film was tailored for multi-platform release to raise awareness on the importance of intergenerational care.
Hardcore 4 Dummies (2023)

Hardcore 4 Dummies is a participatory documentary that dives deep into the hardcore gig culture in Singapore, from the lens of a local hardcore band and the community. The project not only explores the multifaceted aspects of Singapore's hardcore subculture but also serves as a testament to the power of music in transcending boundaries.
As a Director of Photography, I collaborated with the director to develop the visual style and aesthetic of the project. I also operated the camera to capture visuals that aligned with said aesthetic vision. As an online editor, I incorporated visual effects, colour correction and sound mixing in the final edit.
To the Moon, from the Sun with Love (2023)

To the Moon, from the Sun with Love is a short poetic documentary featuring the experiences of a Filipino immigrant living in Singapore. The project discusses concepts of national pride and cultural identity, complemented by visuals of Nighttime Singapore and archival footage.
As a solo project, I interviewed, shot, and edited the documentary. Additionally, I composed the backing soundtrack through FL studio.
SIT Pod Lab Safety: Handling Sharps (2023)

Safe Handling of Sharps is a short PSA done in association with the Food Technology programme Singapore Institute of Technology.
As producer, I developed and managed the budget and schedule for the project, as well as handled logistics and risk management with administrators.
A Visual Ethnography Study into Bus Enthusiasts (2023)

This project is an inquisitive deep dive into the bus fandom community present in Singapore. Acting as an ethnographic study, the project provides an empathetic and immersive glimpse into the lives of two interviewees who are prominent in said community.
As the camera operator, I shot a lot of impromptu shots in public due to the very candid nature of the project. As editor, I worked hand-in-hand with the team to piece together a proper narrative structure for the documentary.
My Blood Brother (2023)

My Blood Brother is an experimental short film that takes heavy inspiration from the Dogme 95 film movement while fusing elements of Exploitation as well. The gritty story tells the tale of a pair of siblings trying to get away with murder in broad daylight.
As the camera operator, I used an old camcorder to mimic the feel of a traditional Dogme 95 film to shoot the scenes, mostly in public. As editor, I worked hand-in-hand with the team to put together a proper narrative structure.
Hide n Seek (2023)

Hide N Seek is a short thriller taking place in a post-apocalyptic world. The film features a lot of gritty action sequences, shot in the Chinatown district of Singapore.
As the editor, I executed the colour grading, VFX effects and sound mixing while receiving and incorporating feedback from the team.
Time to Spare (2023)

Time to Spare is a 60-second short-form practice video made for Casio’s social media. The project revolves around the repetition of time and routine as the lead waits eagerly for his date, signified by the similar yet distinct clips placed over one another. Inspired by Hong Kong films, the project utilises a lot of moody lighting, with an emphasis on green tint and low-shutter shots.
As the camera operator, I shot around prominent and recognisable parts of Chinatown before editing.

Spotify’s Social Media Strategies: A Study (2023)
This report analyses, evaluates and measures Spotify’s existing public communication strategies and techniques, valuing its efficiency and quality. Additionally, the report recommends other probable sets of tactics that can be implemented for the organization.

My Lion City: A Study on Singapore’s Social Values (2023)
This report examines data and insights from the most recent survey done by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth to identify Singapore’s current social capital and form a comprehensive study of the Singapore population’s cohesiveness.

Punggol Fire Station: Campaign Proposal & Planning (2023)
In collaboration with SCDF’s Punggol Fire Station, a campaign proposal plan book was created to help boost their social media presence towards Millennials and Gen Zs.

Vices (2022)
Vices is a photography series that captures the depravity that may come with various addictions. By photographing voyeuristic moments of vulnerability at the height of euphoria, the observer can see the lowest of lows from the subjects’ highest of highs.

Return to Wood (2022)
Return to Wood is a photography series that juxtaposes paper products with an artificial metal tree, exploring the harmonious convergence of nature and human-made materials. The project beckons viewers to appreciate the intricate dance between nature and industry, encouraging a renewed awareness of the delicate balance between the organic and the synthetic in our ever-evolving environment.
The Wheel (2020)
Scriptwriter/ Assistant Camera Operator
The Wheel is a short thriller about a student tutor being kidnapped and tortured by a crazed parent. The film capitalises on a lot of thriller tropes and conventions, from the narrative beats to its aesthetics.
As the scriptwriter, I went through multiple rewrites of the script with lecturers and team members. During production, I assisted the camera operator in technical duties such as camera rigging, focus pulling and lighting operations.
She Risks to Save (2019)

She Risks To Save is a short documentary sponsored by Honour Singapore, featuring the life of a female SCDF officer.
As the cameraman, I had the opportunity to shoot in a professional interview setting with the cast as well as the much more natural and impromptu B-roll shots of the cast's candid interactions. I was able to test myself, learn to think on my feet and quickly adapt whenever needed.
Spot Me (2018)
Assistant Director
Spot Me is a short horror film about traversing a haunted gym. The film utilises a lot of horror tropes, taking inspiration from Thai horror films of a similar vein.
As Assistant Director, I helped to coordinate with the producers on the scheduling and logistics of the production. I was in charge of casting and location as well and had to scout and communicate with potential casts. Production-wise, I took control of the set and ensured all went as planned.
Intruder (2018)
Director/ Scriptwriter
Intruder is a Mandarin short film, sponsored by the People's Association, about an unlikely friendship between a student and an eccentric neighbourhood uncle. Despite not understanding Mandarin, I chose to have the film spoken in Mandarin to give off the specific flair and intimacy that I seek. As such, I had to work very closely with Mandarin-speaking members of my crew through various consultations with the script, helping me translate English text into Mandarin.
As Director, I cooperated with the cameraman, lighting crew, sound man and editor to give the best product we could give.
